Remote Desktop Services (RDS) makes it possible to run an application or an entire desktop in one location, but have it be controlled in another. With RDS, you can install & manage session-based desktops & applications, or virtual-machine based desktops on centralized servers in the data center; screen images are delivered to the users & the users' client machines, in turn, send keystrokes & mouse movements back to the server. When using Remote Desktop Services, administrators can present users with an entire desktop environment, or with their individual applications & data which they require to complete their task.

Microsoft TS RemoteApp

Terminal Services RemoteApp (TS RemoteApp) enables organizations to provide access to standard Windows-based programs from virtually any location to users. RemoteApp programs are programs that are accessed remotely through Terminal Services and appear as if they are running on the end user's local computer.
Users can run RemoteApp programs side by side with their local programs. A user can minimize, maximize & resize the program window & can easily start multiple programs at the same time. If a user is running more than one RemoteApp program on the same terminal server, the RemoteApp programs will share the same Terminal Services session.

Microsoft TS Web Access

Terminal Services Web Access (TS Web Access) is a role service in the Terminal Services role that lets you make RemoteApp™ programs & a link to the terminal server desktop, available to users from a Web browser. Additionally, TS Web Access enables users to connect from a Web browser to the remote desktop of any server or client computer where they have the appropriate access.
